When you are in between work, laid off, seeking new opportunities while employed – participate in creating ‘non-work goals’.
Whether improving your game, aim, or timing…work on something like enhancing a talent, skill, knowledge or hobby that is important to you.
Why do this?
- We are more than workers and producers
- Even when out of work, one is and can be successful at life
- Being well-rounded and engaging in ‘interest improvisation’ can be topic of discussion on an interview, or
- New goals can translate into being value-added on the job
- Participating in something we enjoy can be a great distraction, add satisfaction, or relieve stress when one needs a short break from seeking new employment.
