
Lotus Women’s Center is a place for woman to develop a connection…
…between their bodies and their minds to lead full, healthy, balanced lives. The center provides an opportunity for women to self-improve, connect, network and support one another in their development. Women are free to participate in a range of services, utilize an abundance of resources, and participate in a number of workshops to improve their health, develop the spirit, and network for career and educational opportunities. It is a center for women to explore themselves; their interests; their health; and their spirits.
Vision
Lotus Women’s Center currently offers activity therapy, college and career coaching, book clubs, project plan series workbooks. The Center is designed to include all four components listed below and aims to become a staple in the communities it serves. Designed to be a place for woman to develop bonds that will assist them in:
- Maintaining their health and fitness;
- Obtaining health and mental health education;
- Seeking counseling if/when necessary;
- Receiving career advice and mentorship;
- Exploring their spirit;
- Attending workshops on various topics such as family/friends, relationships, careers, health, finances, life goals and changes etc.
- Utilizing resources within our library to self-improve and educate
Lotus Center aspires to build networks among women of all socioeconomic, racial, ethnic, religious and age groups. By creating a place for women to develop, heal and help each other and themselves to become stronger, more empowered, healthier mothers, daughters, wives, sisters, workers, and citizens, Lotus Center hopes to unite women and break the cycle of unconstructive competition that sometimes exists between and among women. By serving a diverse group of women who are encouraged to share their talents and knowledge through workshops and support groups – Lotus Women’s Center aspires to empower individuals and women as a collective.
The aim of the Center is to also improve gender relations, rights and opportunities directly and indirectly. Outcomes from collaborations and collective efforts within Lotus, can promote equal pay, protection, and voices in a variety of forums.
